Information:
A RIMM™ module is a
memory module consisting of eight to sixteen RDRAM® devices assembled on a
specified PCB. Commercially available Rambus-based PCs, Workstations and Servers
are equipped with RIMM modules.
RIMM modules are available
in various memory densities including, 64MB, 128MB or 256MB of memory. Two RIMM
modules can be used for 512MB of memory in the system.
RIMM Modules are available
in three speed grades - 600MHz, 700MHz or 800MHz. Modules of different speed
grades can be combined in the same system, but the memory system will operate at
the speed of the slowest module.
RIMM modules are available
with ECC (Error Checking and Correction) support; lower cost, non-ECC RIMM
modules are also available.
